Part time OISC Level 3 South Asian Female Immigration Advisor
• 3 days per week (21 hours)
• £35,745 FTE dependent on experience and qualifications
• 3 years fixed term contract
Kiran Support Services (KSS) provides specialist services to South Asian women fleeing domestic abuse through the provision of refuge accommodation, advice, advocacy and counselling services and immigration advice and casework support.
We are now recruiting for an office based qualified Immigration Advisor able to work a minimum 3 days per week (4-5 days negotiable). We will consider an OISC Level 2 worker with a proven track record of successful casework submission on condition to undertake and pass the OISC Level 3 exam.
The successful candidate will manage a complex caseload and will support securing the immigration status of service users.
You must have:
OISC Level 3 or equivalent qualification. OISC Level 2 will be accepted on condition that you will undertake the Level 3 qualification as a condition of employment.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the legal field and in areas such as immigration law, family law, domestic violence, welfare benefits and housing, providing legal advice and advocacy to Asian/ BME women who have experienced domestic abuse.
Up to date working knowledge of Home Office policies relating to domestic abuse including Destitute Domestic Violence Concession and Asylum is essential.
Working knowledge of housing, welfare benefits and the criminal justice system is essential.
Fluency in at least one South Asian language (Urdu/ Punjabi preferred)
